You're in California, why not go to UC???? Go Tritons!!!!

Oh I didn't read your question entirely, if you'd decided to stay in Calif, I'm hoping you'd apply to UCSD or any schools in UC system. Sure its competetive, but hey, it's the best public university in the nation. Since you love the cold, it's not in your list but University of Washington, Seattle perhaps? Sorry I'm not familiar with your chosen universities.

These will be a shock, depending on where in California you live! You haven't told us what you want to study, which makes this difficult. Having said that, the best in my field, anyway, are Akron, Idaho, and Wayne State. I would definitely eliminate Northwood University, which is a for-profit, and probably Eastern Oregon and Central State (which state is that, anyway? I've never heard of it!). One thing to think of is that your choices seem to run from extreme urban (Wayne State) to extreme rural isolation (Eastern Oregon). Most people have a preference, and that may guide your choices as well.

I lived near Idaho State University for awhile and both my parents are from that area.
Pocatello is definitely not a big city. There are some movie theatres, a mall, and a Wal-Mart, but nothing really 'exciting'.
And it gets *cold*. Temperatures get far below freezing during the whole winter. Unless you've experienced a true Idaho winter, you'll be in for a big shock.
