I can't think what you are using it for that you would need a huge quantity. Are you sure you are using the correct glue for the task because super glue is only usually used for small tasks. I think it comes in small tubes because by the time you've used it once and then replaced the lid, the next time you come to use it you can't get the darned lid off it because it has been superglued onto the tube and then you have to throw it away and buy another. If it was a bigger tube you would have to throw more away so would work out to be really costly.

It comes in bigger bottles, such as in woodworking shops. Not too expensive either. It usually sells in tiny tubes because it is a) dangerous to the non-skilled b) enough for a single job and the rest often solidifies anyway c) thats the best way to make money - sell things in tiny packages.
PS woodworkers buy it in 3 consistencies - water, thick and almost gel.

Because it is super expensive and putting it in a 6 oz jar would make it too expensive to buy and IF it was spilt you would sick up half the bloody town with it.

MONEY!
You can get it in a much larger version if you go to places that sell plastic building materials. The bottles hold 20g, bigger bottles are available.
20g is enough to glue a large project together.
