You can run a diesel car on processed, used cooking oil--you have to get the impurities out first. There are more and more stations with this biodiesel around--look for one in your area. For some diesel engines, you don't need any retrofitting--for others you need a fairly inexpensive retrofit.

No, he's not pulling your leg. Any diesel engine will be run with vegetable oil. the purely downside is that some cooking oils contain added stuff which may damage the engine, or boost sediments after a lengthy time period.

if it is diesel you can. the age on the motor does not matter.

I worked with a guy that had his vw jetta converted to vegetable oil. he would start the gar on diesel, and purge the system on diesel before killing it. He got around 35-40 mpg on the veggie oil. His car was an 02.

Yes you can. All you have to do is mix a little bit of Kerosene with it to get the best performance.Mix a gallon of Kero to 5 Gallons of cooking oil. Tried and Tested. It does work!!

motor oil has a certain thickness to it - and others have different thickness. this is to keep the parts lubricated during use.
you can cause serious damage to your engine by using alternative stuff.
why would you want to do that ? if you own a land rover obviously you aren't lacking in funds so why try to cut corners with things that will end up costing you more in the end ?
i'd speak to the land rover company before trying anything.
btw- i heard of ppl running their lawn mowers on dog crap....

no no no stop don't do that before you do anything on your car i will suggest you contact Land Rover first before you do anything that will cost you money on repair. so don't use cooking oil on your Land Rover if you miss the car up you gonna have to spend a lot of money to rebuild the engine and the transmission. so contact your Land Rover Dealer or your Mechanic.

yes you can but I think you need to have the motor converted a bit so look into it.Its a great way to save on petrol and use left over oils from take away shops.I suggest you google some info on it or ask your mechanic.

probably if it is a deisel and is elderly and well worn. I have known people run their old tractors on some really weird fuels. I would stick to the really thin types like rapeseed as you don't want to clog up everything. Good luck,
