This is actually a dumb question considering everyone is going to have their own opinions in regards to a team they like or dislike. I mean in the NBA when Jordan was on the Bulls and they were winning all their Championships there were people who hated them still.

Anyways.... In the year that Steelers Beat Seattle in the Superbowl. People then and now complained about it as if the Steelers were a bad team that didn't deserve it. I find it odd how anyone can say that considering they were bottom seeded in the Wild Card and made it through the top teams and still managed to make it to the superbowl beating Seattle. Say what you want but it just seems that people really dislike them. I'm curious as to why.

A lot of the NFL franchises aren't nearly as consistently good as the Steelers. Almost every single year they are in the playoffs, and they continue to quietly put together teams with hard working players, with no showboating involved.

Because they are always doing well, and the enormous amount of fans follow them around the entire country, fans of other teams are just jealous of them.

Super Bowl XL was not given to the Steelers. Being the sixth seed, winning all those road games (against Cincy, Indy and Denver) - and the Seattle Seahawks blew their golden opportunity.

Jealously is the bottom line here; other franchises can't compete with the Steelers, and most of them want to know how the Steelers keep doing it year after year.

They are a good team, and a lot of people are tired of seeing their teams get beat by them. I do the same thing, being a Browns fan. I have friends who Steelers fans, and I'll give them props, those Steelers know how to play. But I can't help grinning a little when they do lose.

P.S. I loved watching the Steelers beat the Seahawks that year. Bettis and Ward are some classy guys, and it was nice to see them win those rings.

People just hate because they are humans with flaws as well as I am. I like the Steelers and I go back to the days of Franco Harris! He went to my high school and I knew him well. I don't have a particular team to hate. I think any team that even make it to any part of the playoffs can't be all bad. People need to be loyal fans and let others be fans of whatever team they like without putting others down. The fans I can't stand are the ones that say they are die-hard fans and when they lose.....they call them bums. Tsk......tsk....where's the loyalty? People hate teams that beat their teams. Nature of the beast I guess.

I'm guessing it has something to do with them Steeling Super Bowl XL. Personally I could care less about them I'm too busy worried about my New Orleans Saints. Now what I don't like is how some Steelers fans complained about Ken Whiselhunt not getting the job when they gave it to Mike Tomlin. They already judged him before they knew anything about him. I wonder how many people who cursed him with their mouths are using that same mouth to now kiss his @s$

Jealousy, that's why.

My Steelers are a team not filled with a bunch of big name superstars yet they keep winning games. People claim they're so bad and they suck but they're socking teams in the mouth.

Jealousy is the main reason people hate on the Steelers.

Mainly the fans. While I'm not sure all of them/you. There is a very vocal contingent that is arrogant and insulting to fans of other teams, especially division rivals. They are real jerks. I also don't like Ben (though i used to) because of his attitude and Ward is one of the dirtiest players in the league (as voted by players in SI).

The Steeler fans I work with are disrespectful to every other teams fans. They never give credit to a team that beats them they always say the team was just lucky. If calls go there wat it's part of the game but if calls go against them the fix is in. So thats why I dislike the Stealers it's because of thier fans.

You said it yourself:
"they were bottom seeded in the wild card" it is not like they were playing like the pats or the colts right now.
plus we all remember how the SB game was given to them by the officials and their stupid calls.

i am not a seahawk fan or a steeler hater, just an NFL fan .

I never understood why this bothers people. There is a playoff system in the NFL; goodwill and appreciation are not needed. College football is another matter.

I'm pretty sure that in every English class I've ever taken, the verb "hate" didn't need a preposition after it.
