why do so many people make fun of canada?

I don't see what's so great about USA, they voted in Bush for crying out loud!

Why do they take pot-shots at Canadians? For the same reason bullies pick on the shy and smaller children, it makes them feel better about themselves. It doesn't matter what ONE country thinks of Canada ... it's what the rest of the world thinks of Canada, that counts. :)

I don't think many people make fun of Canada except Americans, which I am. Personally, I haven't been and would love to go but from the opinions of other Americans, Canada is a country that does nothing. People really think Canada will soon become a part of the US. Not my opinion but I hear these things all the time.

hi Ryan, i haven't heard of persons making that many jokes approximately Canada, as lots as a results of fact the subsequent united states. yet while they do: it relatively is recommendations over remember, they have not have been given any recommendations, so it do no longer remember as a results of fact there the comic tale!

I would contend that while people make bigoted, cruel and self-superior fun of Mexico, America's Southern friend, most of the American jokes made at our Northern neighbor's expense are more of the envy and lashing back like a little girl variety. Canada is a nice, clean, cool place. Nothing about it for The US to make fun of, in my experience. So it's like a community college graduate making fun of a Harvard MBA, in other words.

No, not really. People make fun of what they like or don't understand. So, either they like Canada or they just don't 'get it'.

By USA Americans, you mean? Because we are stupid and arrogant and think we are superior. They are just an easy target. Most people believe that Canadian people are complete pacifists and won't fight back. I think that some Americans make fun of Canadians because they are so similar, yet just different enough. It is like teasing a kid because he is a little bit different.

One day an Englishman, an American, and a Canadian walked into a pub
together. The proceeded to each buy a pint of Molson Canadian. Just as they
were about to enjoy their beverage three flies landed in each of their
pints. The Englishman pushed his beer away from him in disgust. The
American fished the offending fly out of his beer and continued drinking it
as if nothing had happened.
The Canadian picked the fly out of his drink and started shaking it over the

hmmm, people make fun of many many other countries, including their own....it is the nature of many people to just find a reason to laugh. It does no harm really, and is a good release. Adults learn to take it in stride.
