The story was published in 1919 and I know it's in the public domain in the US. But I am wondering if it's fine to post such a story on a personal blog or such where people can view it from all over the world.

Check to see if it is really in the public domain. It seems that there is a lot of misconceptions about this concept.
If it is truely in the public domain, then there is no problem.

If the story was first published in 1919 then it might be copyright protected until 2014 (95 years is the maximum period a story can be protected for).

So are you sure it's public domain?

If it is, then you can do what you want with it. You could even print it and sell copies.

No, you could no longer, sorry. even inspite of the undeniable fact that they published it online, in a public area, it remains their belongings. those thoughts belong to the authors. you could prefer permission, ideally written in a freelance, to submit their artwork.

It would depend if it is copyrighted.
However, you may be able to post it if you place the credits (ie, who wrote it, who published it etc, etc).
