well indian women never really enjoyed goddess like status ever............... they maybe enjoying respect & admiration if they r associated with media & some sort of social thing......... but those women r all plastic made & artificial......... the 'real' indian women is still considered as a 'garbage' like thing.......... u should go & have a look at the women's plight in villages & even in some towns.............. female infanticide is still on a rise in India...... women r thrashed badly if they bring a female child into this world even today......... & this is not only in small villages......... this is prominent even in metropolitan cities.... child marriage is still prominent in Indian villages......... fathers blindly 'sell' their daughters to strangers for money.......... every single minute 7 women in India either commit suicide due to in-laws harassment or r killed by their in-laws themselves 4 the dowry thing or sometimes , simply , for no reason at all............. not only illiterate , but well educated ppl r also involved in this brutal thing............ is this wht u call a 'goddess ' like status tht indian women enjoy??..........

huh !!!!!!!!!! A goddess like status ??????
I don't think that goddesses are burnt alive for not bringing dowry, are abused, face gender bias in house as well as in their careers............
In some villages there is so much illiteracy that some women are even burnt alive because the illiterate people believe that they are witches...............
Just look at the no. of rape cases these days and that too alone in Delhi.........................
open ur eyes .......
the condition is far worse..........

its gone in practise since Indian women are now using Kumari inlieu of Devi as their middle name.
From the Indus valley civilisation ,the mother cult was the culture of India throughout the Gangetic plane.Gangaji whom the British pronounced as the Ganges was itself considered the divine mother as it fertilised the land. The Deva's can not live without the consort so the man can not create his own image without the substratum called women. So the woman of substance are looked upon as goddess. The great Geeta defines female substratum as consisting of seven divine qualities namely.....justifying their goddess like status.

Who has written their love story to the woman of their heart; their love. There was a man, there was a people who did not look upon themselves with disgust. They saw beyond her and into the true God of love; We see through a lens made of flesh.
