Maybe.
First of all the CPU has to fit on the motherboard and if no dual core chips are made for an older socket then you can't upgrade (there have at times been adapters that allowed the use of different socketed processors and motherboards but they seem to have become extinct lately).
Then even if you can physically fit a new dual core processor onto your motherboard you've also got motherboard support issues since some newer dual core processors need the motherboard to be able to supply different voltages that older single core chips didn't need.
If all that works out then a BIOS update should be enough to get support for dual core processors, provided of course the manufacturer made an update.
The manufacturer should be able to tell what'll work.

there'll be no themes operating that cpu on that motherboard. also, the ATi pictures it really is touching on is the integrated motherboard pictures it extremely is featured on the board. yet you could run your nVidia card basically tremendous on it. once you upload your card, it is going to immediately disable the integrated motherboard pictures besides. Or, you could enter the BIOS and manually disable it before installation your card. As for reusing your previous heatsink on that board: see you later because the heatsink will be put in on socket AM2+, it really is tremendous.
