As a rugby fan who is neither English or South African I can have a completely unbiased opinion. The 2008 RWC final was the most boring game of rugby I have ever witnessed. It hasn't proved who the best side in international rugby is, all it has done is shown us who is good at kicking goals.

England did very well to beat the Aussies and then the French. Many people didn't expect England to beat the Aussies let alone get to the final. We were disappointed to lose but South Africa were the best team in the tournement and throughly deserved to win. People keep talking about the video ref decision but even if the try had been given. I still think South Africa would have one. They always seemed in control of the game.

I have been a rugby player, referee and now an enthusiastic follower of the game or real sportsman(apart from the odd moment of red mist) and in general the English fans are very sporting and agree the best team won.

We did ourselves credit in the end. I believe that we scored a try, but it wasn't given, so there's no use crying about it. South Africa are a great team. Now is the time to expand the Tri Nations and let in Argentina, Fiji and Japan, although it looks as if europe will beat you to it and have a Seven Nations Tournament.
I'm now looking forward to the South African Football World Cup in 2010. let's hope it's a good one.

Well Done South Africa....
England has more money to throw around and pays alot of money to have the referees it wants...
I seriously think as a Rugby body they have some serious "control issues"......
Sportsmanship for them dont even enter into it....
Shall we take a vote on it...ooops...I havent been given permission too....( from England)

Apart from the video referee robbing us from a try, I believe that South Africa deserved to win. I was astounded that we got to the final anyway, but the better team won on the day.

We were beaten by a better side in the final. I reckon if the video ref had been anything other than Australian the Mark Cueto try would have been given. But it wasnt so never mind. At least we beat the French and b itch slapped the Aussies

Probably crying about the try that never was, a foot out of touch means no try, but a line out to south africa, they probably also make excuses like losing robinson vickery and wilkinson (who played) with a busted ankle

I'm English and I'm surprised they even got to the final.
To lose to the Springboks in the final after knocking out the Aussies and the French (on home soil) - was good enough!
