Wow one bad year and now Weis should be fired and The Irish demoted to Division 2? Simply rediculous.

Now let me see if I can remember this correctly.

1. Lou holtz leaves because of a poor season at ND.
2. Bob Davie comes in 7-6 his first year playing with lou Holtz recruits(most of them seniors including that bum Ron Powlus, even though he set records galore), then 9-3, then 5-7, then 9-3, then 5-6, Then he's axed! he lost all 5 of his bowl games at ND( He recruited guys like Arnaz Battle, Carlyle Holiday, & Julius Jones)

3. In comes Tyrone Willingham, he goes 10-3 his first season at Notre Dame with Davies seniors, then 5-7 & 6-6 all down hill the next 2 years. Then the public and media literally hang Willingham. He lost Notre Dame its 7th bowl game in a row. (He recruited Brady Quinn, Jeff Samardzija, and Tom Zbikowski, followed by Darrius Walker))

4. In comes Charlie Weis 9-3 1st year , then 10-3, but still no bowl game wins for ND in almost 10 years now. Weis contract was extened in 05 to 10 years for $30 mill so he's staying put. ND wont buy out that contract!

He will be given a shot to see what his recruits will do in the future at ND, unlike Davie & Willingham, so yea they are garbage now but Fat Charlie will turn this around next season, and all will be forgiven.

No. Everyteam in the nation has a year where they are horrible. According to the recruiting class next year Notre Dame will have some help.

No, that's probably a bit too harsh. But if I were at NBC I would be highly considering pulling my exclusive broadcast deal. Notre Dame is not the team they were in the 80's and before.

No, but they should be forced to join a damn conference already.

Oh, and I can't believe I am saying this, but they need to give Charlie a couple of more years. I can't stand the dude, but given their recent history of not letting a coach finish what he started, I think they need to give Charlie at least 2 more years. He will probably fail, yes. But at least at that point, any good potential coaches won't be as scared to come in there. Why would anyone want to go there now, knowing you better win the title in your first two years or you are done.

I still can't believe I just said that.. Charlie Weiss sucks...but I will stand by my comments. For the good of the school, give him two more years.

Why on earth would they do that, they had a crappy year but come on man it is still Notre Dame.

Weis should be fired. I picture Clausen getting knocked around the field and Benny Hill playing in the background.

No, lets all enjoy this year together!!! Lou Holtz has finally shut up on the pre game shows!! Plus I think the Divisions has more to do with enrollment and stadium seating capacity.

I don't know if I'd go that far but I'll be real suprised to see Charlie Weiss as the coach next year. Actually, I'm suprised they haven't fired him already.

No. Grand Valley State and Nebraska-Omaha would beat the crap out of them.

Drop them down to the NAIA.
