whats fn mean and do? also when i push fn+f1 the light on the power button goes on and off whats the point, also fn+f2 that ((i)) goes on and off whats that? thanks. anything else cool about the gateway laptop lemme kno. i purchased it in july 07. thanks

Fn stands for function. If it's anything like my gateway, the fn key will act like the shift key, except for that it will do whatever is printed in blue on your keys.

The FN is like SHIFT key and it has special meaning when combined with other keys. By itself it doesn't do anything. Try to depress the Fn key with other key which has the same color to see what it does. Without this key, your keyboard will be huge.
