I love Queen Sarcastic's answer. Actually, it takes many hours before Thanksgiving to put together that meal. The pies are made the day before, the casseroles are put together the day before and put in the fridge, the mashed potatoes have to cook while the turkey is in the oven, then mashed minutes before serving; the gravy has to be made from the drippings from the turkey; on and on, but a turkey (at least 15 lbs. - takes 6 hours), so starting to wake up without being grumpy at 7:00 a.m., heating the oven, putting the stuffing in the bird, putting the turkey in the oven at 9:00 (after getting the table set up with china, silverware), letting the bird set for the required 20-30 minutes after cooking, dinner will be served at 3:30 p.m. Leftovers will be eaten anytime afterwards, along with dessert!

Anywhere between 12-2. Then leftovers the rest of the day.

We've usually had the meal between 2 and 4 pm. Because the turkey takes so long to roast, we had family driving long distances and the football games have to be planned around, also.

Very seldom does that happen. We eat at 11:00 and eat leftovers throughout the day.

Really? We always ate our Thanksgiving dinner at dinner. That's how holidays are for us. Very scheduled and planned out, with specific times for specific things. But I guess everyone does things differently.
