Yes. One of the problems with the house is sugar ants. I can't leave anything out that isn't sealed tight and the refrigerator is convenient.

flour be in the freezer for 48 hours if your not using it in the first week. some type of bug grows in it after a while. Sugar should stay out of cool places because it will stick together

No inside canisters, but I use big canisters to keep the bags in there.
