silver is pretty good at room-temperature

"superconductors" are problematic for various reasons
(current-density comes to mind)

best? not sure if that is actually a "known thing"

gold resists corrosion and is almost as conductive as silver

silver 1.6 × 10-8 1.6
copper 1.7 × 10-8 1.7
gold 2.2 × 10-8 2.2
aluminium 2.7 × 10-8 2.7
magnesium 4.2 × 10-8 4.2
tungsten 5.4 × 10-8 5.4

Silver has the lowest resistivity of the metallic elements. Gold is used for contacts because it resists corrosion, but it is not as good a conductor as silver.
