If you just want to invest in stock you're wasting your time getting a degree, especially in Business Administration. You'll only get an overview of all the areas of business with that degree, marketing, finance, accounting, economics and management, although you'll probably end up with a minor in one of those. Getting a degree to buy stock is like becoming a CPA to do your taxes. If you want to go into investing professionally then you should get a degree in finance. But if you just want to speculate in stock, in a retail brokerage account there are plenty of books, websites and even short courses. Dont risk what you cant afford to lose. If you're taking about investing for your life goals seek out someone with credentials.

Actually, you can learn about stock investing online and through books. An Associate's degree won't hurt you, but it won't help much if this is the only thing you want to learn. I'd recommend reading up on stocks through www.fool.com or any of their books. I'd also recommend finding a local investors' club, joining, and learning how to research and invest with others. It will cost you perhaps $50 a month, depending on the club, to invest each month, but that way you own a share of the stocks. See www.better-investing.org. If you can't find a club, go to some of their one-day courses, and you'll learn much of what you need to know, and it's not expensive.

The education will not hurt but the best way is to start investing in various things such as a 401K , IRA, buy an individual stock or two and an individual Bond or two. The best education for buying stocks is to learn by experience. Read the Wall Street Journal and read as many books as possible on the subject on investing not just buying stocks.
Try to keep your costs down and don't pay a lot of your investment to advisers.
