Theres some actors you know if they are in a movie its going to be good. Morgan Freeman is one of them. De Niro is another. Theres a few more but those 2 come to mind right now.

My favorite is Christian Bale. He has an actor's discipline that puts almost all others to shame. He shrunk to a skeletal weight for The Machinist but gained a hundred pounds (from 120 to 220) for Batman Begins. He is also considered one of the greatest cult icons because of films like Equilibrium & Batman Begins.
Edward Norton is also quickly becoming one of my favorite. American History X, The 25th Hour, Fight Club and even his small role in Kingdom of Heaven was great
