You can use several routes, the one that comes to my mind is via Paris:
A link to search for trains between Glasgow and London: http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/
Here is a link for the French railways:

Select the date you want to travel, search for a train from Glasgow to London on the English site, and then for a train London to Paris and one Paris to whatever town you want in Switzerland on the French site (it is in English.)
Make sure you have enough time to cross town in London and Paris. Both towns take at least an hour to cross, if you can, plan two hours for the underground/metro trip.
You best buy tickets and make reservations as soon as you can, as all these trains have cheaper tickets when you buy early.
I checked it for you, on a random date, 11 december 2007, you can take the first train from Glasgow and arrive in Geneva before 2100, or in Lausanne, so you can travel even a bit farther into Switzerland on that day.
If your are in the UK now, you can ask at your local trainstation or a travel agency to help you book your travel. But it helps when you bring an outline you get from internet.
PS, Flying will be, most likely, much cheaper.
