Ohio State jumped over EVERYBODY right to #1 after beating no one. B.C. and even South Florida did the same. If Hawaii isn't the new #1, you will know the game is rigged.

Why should Kansas? First of all, they have played absolutely nobody. Only three teams they have faced have winning records. The most wins one team has is 6. The best they have faced as far as record wise, is Central Michigan. OSU has faced seven teams with winning records. Two top 25 teams. And just now they have fallen to a very tough Illinois team. Second of all, Kansas hasn't been in the situation for decades. South Florida had shown signs of being a force in the past couple years. BC has steadily gained ground in becoming a powerhouse. South Florida did play people and so did BC. Now why would someone with a strong history of losing, has not played anybody, squeaked by Texas A&M and Colorado, and somehow is undefeated? We really have nothing in the past to say, this team is for real. OSU went undefeated throughout last regular season, they even posted up another great season the year before, but now just because Kansas is having a dream season they should be #1? They have the benefit of playing in the Big 12 (what many consider the weakest BCS conference), will not be tested until the last game of the season. By the time the whole season is over, they may have played against one single team with a winning record. Yeah, they definately should be #1. Think a little bit about things. Sorry dude, but anyone with a brain only sees one L for LSU. They win and that is all there is too it. Doesn't matter how or when, but as long as they can consistently knock off ranked oppenents, while Kansas knocks off 3-8 opponents, then LSU deserves the nod over Kansas. To Kevin l: Sorry LA Tech kinda slipped by after seeing Virginia Tech, South Carolina, Florida, Auburn, and Alabama. After playing six ranked opponents, I think they deserve a fluff.

yes the smaller conferences dont get respect they should. BUT hell go schedule a real game and then thered be some. you cant play teams like fresno state and boise state and expect to be #1 in the nation. YET i still say give Hawaii a chance in a big bowl, theve put up impressive numbers the past 2 seasons now. Put them against a big dog, you never know. Itd be interesting at least either way to see

The BSC sucks, but it is based on schedule strength, points for/against, coaches polls, etc. if you dont nationally expose yourself then you wont get that respect from coaches which is over 25% of the BCS ranking.

The whole system is jacked up. If youre ranked preseason youre pretty much sitting pretty. If #1 preseason loses the first game to any bad team they drop maybe to the teens in spots, say #18. But a team ranked say #22 preseason drops out even if they lose the first game to a ranked team by 1 point, and has to beat another ranked team to "prove themselves" and get back in the rankings. if you get what im saying the whole system is stupid.

IMO Kansas is good enough to be #1, for now. what does it hurt putting them #1 for the time being. they still have more games left and could change. They still have #7 missouri left so theyll be tested. But they've been impressive and deserve #1 based on wins/losses solely. that should be the first factor, THEN also include the others like schedule strength and points behind that. Give the team whos run the table the #1 sport over someone with 1 loss. They worked hard for those wins.

To above: the problem with that argument is you have teams like Michigan who can still go to a BCS bowl while losing to Appilachian State a Div I-AA team. I dont think theyre anymore deserving of a BCS bowl bid than and unbeaten WAC team no matter who they played. who did Michigan beat that theyre still so respected? 1-9 Minnesota? Eastern Michigan? 1-9 Notre Dame? Only decent ranked team they beat was Penn state, yet they wete #15 going into this week? They arent BCS bowl material either then by any means

Ohio State became number 1 when everyone else lost. Hawaii doesn't play anyone either. How can you say B.C. and South Florida didn't play anyone when Hawaii plays in the WAC? They won't be number 1. LSU will and Oregon will be number 2. I'd be surprised if Hawaii makes the top 10.

Uh, as much as I hate to say it, Ohio State did not leap frog anyone. They won their games when others didn't, until now. Hawaii has an extremely low strength of schedule and plays in a weak conference. They should be up high but, unless they win by 70 each game, I don't have a reason why they should be #1.

Hawaii is good, but doesn't really play any other good teams in order to earn a No. 1 spot. My thoughts on the BCS is that you could easily take out the C and that is what you have...BS. However, most of these highly ranked teams have earned it so far.

Edit: Didnt notice the sarcasm..but I see it now. I didn't see the other posts that were made before this one until now. Sarcasm is so hard to read online. =D

Come on. Kansas would cream Hawaii, as would the rest of the top 10.

The point is that Kansas is undefeated. They are number 1 by default. It is a popularity contest after all.

But there's no point in being bitter.

Kansas will be tested, so let them enjoy the number 1 ranking.

Your crazy? Hawaii will not be in the top 12, they wont get a BCS big because they are not a good team, they dont verse tough teams they have easy non-conference and conference schedules, verse Ohio State, Michigan, Kansas, Lsu, Boston College, they wont win any of them.

If they would play a schedule that was tougher than most high schools they might get some respect. Remember that La. Tech was just a two point conversion away from beating Hawaii.

Hawai'i is awesome but they will never be number one unfortunately because the powers that be do not give the Wac conference any respect. Boise St. kicked butt last year and still never got that close. A Wac team would have to be unbeaten all year and score 100 points a game to be considered for even a top 5. Crap teams like USC continually get ranked higher than they should be because of past winnings and this doesn't help teams like Hawai'i. The college polls are unfair !!!

HAHAHA!!! Hawaii has the lowest strength of schedule of any D1 team in the country. Their opponents have a combined record of 14 - 42 and have yet to play a top 25 team. If they played in a "real conference" they would be lucky to have 4 wins.
