i heard before that if you purchase something, and it goes on sale, you can go back to the store, show the receipt, and theyll pay you the difference. is that true, and is there a term for it? and do you think i can do that for a clothing store such as american eagle? thanks

They aren't required to, but many stores will if it's just a couple days between when you bought the item and when it went on sale. It doesn't hurt to ask......

Have you thought about returning the item with the receipt and then purchasing sale item?

that is not a "policy" but some stores policy. just cause one says they will does not mean other will. all depends on that stores rules. can't harm to ask.
