If they win out, meaning they beat unranked Iowa State and #7 Missouri, then go on to defeat Oklahoma in the Big 12 Title game, they should be a strong #2. I haven't seen enough to say they're gonna be #1 yet. As far as not mentioning "The Big 12 Sucks", no one should say it because it's untrue. Based on BCS standings alone, the Big 12 is better than everyone, with three teams ranked in the top 6 going into yesterday. Most of the other teams are competitive in the conference. As far as their schedule. This is Kansas. No one saw this coming. No one expected them to contend for anything but bowl eligibility. Thats why the scheduled four WINS on their non conference schedule, playing schools such as Neverheardof U. and Wossamata U. They didn't schedule a championship schedule because they didn't believe they'd have the chance to play for a championship. I'd give them #2 but not number 1.

Not yet, they shouldn't.
If they run the table and end up beating Mizzou and Oklahoma, then yes they should be #1 because they would ahve beaten two very good teams.
As of right now, they're opponents haven't been as tough.
They didn't play Texas, Texas Tech Missouri or Oklahoma(yet for Oklahoma and Missouri) and those are the toughest Big 12 teams.
LSU and Oregon ahve had much tougher schedules. The only ranked team Kansas played was Kansas St
The earliest I see them at #1 is if they can beat Missouri.
That's the week (assuming they don't lose to Iowa St.) they should be #1.

No they should not be...
I wish I could say they should be, as I don't think LSU should be either, but they will.
Kansas is hurt by the records of the teams they have beaten. LSU is helped by beating other SEC teams that have good overall records.
I don't like hearing how the SEC is the best and the Big 12 sucks because they don't play anybody but each other...uh, that is exactly what the SEC does as well...yet the SEC is considered by far the best of the best...
Tennessee lost to Cal. Auburn lost to South Florida, Alabama lost to Florida State...and Alabama had a good chance of beating LSU..Mississippi State lost to WVU but beat Alabama....etc...
The same arguments could be made against the Big 12...but until a great team from the SEC plays a great team from the Big 12, we have no idea what is what.
Georgia beat Oklahoma State...OK, but Georgia is a top tier team in the SEC..Oklahoma State is not a top tier team in the Big 12.
Georgia 35 -14 over Oklahoma State...Kansas 43-28 over Oklahoma State. Is this really a good comparison? NO. Oklahoma State's loss was the first game of the season...Oklahoma State played at Georgia, Kansas played at Oklahoma State...etc.etc..... Just really can't compare the two and come up with a conclusion that says the SEC is way better... it is ridiculous.

No. But, there's 1, possibly 2, huge test(s) coming up. If they win next week, then Nov. 24, they will play Missouri. If they win that, they probably deserve to be 1 or 2. But, then they go to the Big 12 Championship, where they could either face texas or Oklahoma. If they win that, they definately deserve to be 1. Bu, until then, they better just wait and see.

If they beat Missouri and then go to San Antonio and win the Big 12 I would say they belong in the National Championship. Going in as number one or two; hardly matters.
As of now... I agree I think they are in the Big 12 North (the weak side of the Big 12) and haven't played anyone (whooping Nebraska just doesn't mean what it used to).
However, in a month they are gonna play some solid teams and if they walk away winners... I just don't see how you dispute it.

Sorry to use a coined phrase, but they really haven't played anybody.
Central Michigan, Southeast Louisiana, Toledo, Florida International out-of-conference, and they play probably the weakest conference schedule possible in the Big XII, missing Oklahoma, Texas, and Texas Tech this year (they still have a really bad Iowa State team left before they play Missouri). None of their opponents will be ranked as of tomorrow (KSU was #24, but will definitely drop out after getting blasted in Lincoln today). Compare that to the schedule that Oregon has played this year (for the record, that's Houston, Michigan, Fresno State, and the other 9 teams in the Pac Ten).

I hear everyone saying "oh they didn't play Texas....oh they didn't play Oklahoma.." People, the Big XII committee makes the conference schedule. Kansas didn't ask not to play them. And as far as their non-conference schedule...last week Ohio State was #1...their non-conference schedule Akron, Youngstown St., Washington, and Kent. State....now how is there any difference? the #1 team now...LSU???? They lost to Kentucky(my home state) and now KY is 7-3(not as great as people thought right?) Oregon #2??? They last to Cal who has proven they're not great at all....So why shouldn't Kansas be #1? Remember Boise State? Noone said they deserved it either...they were the only undefeated team left and they beat Oklahoma....Let's not make the same mistake twice BCS!!!

regrettably there are nevertheless people who refuse to look previous their slender minded evaluations and consider the information and settle for the fact. by utilising records, KU is the UNDISPUTED regularly used ultimate group in the NCAA. by utilising votes, they are #2 in the country. sounds like in the event that they get by utilising Mizzou and win the super 12 we can see them play a non-convention opponent worth of attempting their rank. If and while the "scuffling with Mangino's" win the NC, all and sundry right here, notably the likes of endive can all consume poultry poo. in the event that they get there and get blown out, we as enormous 12 followers will ought to concede that even with the fact we own the authentic 10 as a convention, we are weaker than the SEC. whether the NC interest consists of no enormous 12 group, WVU can not and could no longer defeat LSU. era.

no.
they've played 1 top 25 team and that team happened to be #24 KState who Kansas beat by 6pts.....their combined opponents record is 42-61 one of those teams being 0-9 Fla Intnl. Its easy to look good against 5-5 teams, and its impressive to see a 76-39 win over Nebraska until you really start to break down the numbers. their numbers aren't that inflated from last year, the thing that has changed is being able to pull out a win from Nebraska, T A&M, and OSU who dont exactly look overly impressive this year either.

I don't have a problem with Kansas being ranked #1. If they win out they should be in the NC game. This coming from an LSU fan! I do however think that LSU should be in the #2 spot.
