if you have rear drum brakes then one of the rear wheel cylinders may have let go. the burning smell is the fluid heating up because now it is all over the shoe and when you stop it is heating up and making that smell

if you keep loosing the pedal all the time it could be the master cylinder the burning smell will be the shoes or pads getting hot,and that may be because there's only the front or the rear brakes working, they will get hot if all of them aren't working right, you need to have this checked, that's a dangerous situation to be in when the brakes go out, very unsafe to drive also, good luck on it.

the only way your brake pedal is going to go to the floor is if the hydrulic system is leaking or has air in it which means its leaking somewhere.
if youve eliminated all wheels hoses and lines with no leaks then the master cylinder could be leaking into your brake booster
also your master clyinder could be cycleing meaning that the seal inside is worn out and is not distributing the fluid down the brake lines

LOL! Sorry I had to laugh, The master is about 1 foot in front of your stearing wheel and the back brakes are at the back. There is small lines that go to the back and calipers that hold your break assembly in the back. You have a serious problem don't mess around get it checked out.

greater advantageous than in all probability a caught brake caliper it relatively is preserving the brakes on. So brakes are overheating. Have it checked asap and if the brakes then ask if the fluid is okay. achieveable wheel bearings yet generally they make noise.
