In the 1950s, an early Mad Magazine parody of Mickey Mouse (called "Mickey Rodent", written by "Walt Dizzy") featured "Darnold Duck", whose quacky voice had to be "translated" for the readers, and who was shamed into finally wearing pants.

In 1991 the Disney Corporation sued the Israeli Caricaturist Dudu Geva for copyright infringement, claiming his character "Donald Dach" in the story "Moby Duck" was a ripoff of Donald.[5] The Courts found in their favor and forced Geva to pay for the legal expenses and remove his book from the shelves. More mildly, the character Howard The Duck's original design was modified to include pants allegedly due to pressure from Disney.

LITTLE KNOWN SECRETS: Donald's first depiction was drawn in the book "Mickey Mouse Annual," in the poem "More HooZoo," where he was an unassuming little winged duckling who wore buttoned pants (perhaps the last time he would ever wear pants).

but no pants (except when he goes swimming, ironically).

thats all i found

I have two theories. One's silly and one's probably pretty close to the actual truth.

Theory #1: He wouldn't be able to fit his flipper feet into the legs. Told you it was silly.

Theory #2: Walt Disney probably toyed with the idea and couldn't make it work because Donald Duck is the only character with a body shape that isn't humanoid. His bottom half is oddly shaped and wouldn't support a natural looking form for pants. Where as Mickey and Goofy are shaped like people, the form of pants flow better on them.

It's hard finding pants specially made for the tail. Especially for duck the tail is actually higher up then dogs and at the point at as if you were to cut it would rip the whole pants. Anyways that's my theory lol.

Come on, have you ever seen a duck wearing pants? I haven't. The next thing you'll ask is why doesn't Olive Oil wear a Push-up bra? Right?

He is a cartoon character for kids. I suppose the reason he doesn't wear pants is so the kids can see his tail.

It causes his feathers to rub the wrong way and he chafes. The censors let it through though since his feathers covering his naughty bits. The same can't be said for the porno star porky pig.
