My brother has cerebral palsy and she just stole the check from him. Is there anything we can do?what will happen to her?

first call the police and has her put in jail -- call the issuer of the check and have than issue a new one!!!

You can call the person/company/government office that wrote the check and ask them to stop payment and reissue it. You should also report it to the police as it's theft, and she will do it again unless she's stopped. It sounds like she doesn't have a conscience. Further, someone needs to be your brother's guardian: you should get a lawyer and put the paperwork through, so he has someone to protect him if he can't do it himself. There are local nonprofit agencies that might act as his advocate for free: you should ask the local government or United Way agency or United Cerebral Palsy agency.

Also, since she stole the check, she will forge his signature and then put her signature under it and cash it (third-party), so she'll get the money unless you stop her.

As to the police, she would be arrested and fingerprinted, and would have a record, but they would probably just lecture her sternly, make her get counseling and do probation and community service: for a first offense, she probably wouldn't get jail time, depending on where you live.

I don't think she can CHECK it (get the cash) cause i think they need your brothers signature
