Primates evolved from tree shrews and then diversified. What we see today are modern species - of course they did not evolve from each other but from earlier, now extinct ancestors. No species ever evolved from a single individual because individuals do not evolve - populations evolve - if you want to find a "missing link," you'll need a fossil from those divergent populations. If you want to find another species just like humans, find a population of our ancestral line that experienced exactly the same genetic and environmental pressures that our ancestors did over the past million years in a world where humans have never trod.

Oh, all of the primates are evolving. Evolution doesn't stop.

Its hard to see, since the generation-to-generation time is so long, but we've already seen an increase in poor eye-sight because corrective lenses are so readily available. When they weren't, natural selection would have prevented human beings from thriving.

Because the theory of evolution was created by a man who had an obsession with his pet monkey Hilda and fantasized about her. So, one day he decided to make up a fairy tale to impress her, but she didn't understand because she wasn't of the same species. When Darwin fell asleep that night his book fell out the window when Hilda jumped onto the window. It fell to the hands of a desperate professor who forgot to prepare his studies for the day so he took the book and well... he was drunk from a little too much black smithies he read over it and wrote it into his studies and taught it in class the next day and it grew from there.

We didn't evolve from anything nor did any animal or plant evolve. In all the theories concerning evolution there is always a missing link or a piece of information needed. Instead of believing the bogus we are taugh today consider looking into creationism (read the King James Version bible)

I just love questions like this that make you really stop and think.

BTW - Do you think that humans continue to evolve? If not, why not?
