In Florida they usually test the mother at the beginning of her prenatal care.....if the woman is unmarried, they may test again toward the end of the pregnancy. They don't just automatically test the baby for HIV after birth though, someone would have to feel there was a need for it in order for them to do so.

You should have been tested during your pregnancy. If not, and if you think you might have HIV, then I would ask the doctors to perform a test before you leave the hospital.

They usually test the mother during pregnancy & if she's positive...they would have a reason to test the baby.

Only if they have been given a reason to do so, if you have it or slept with an infected person they will test the baby to be safe.

they test you for it while you are pregnant. they do test the baby in the hospital for a lot of things but i dont know if that is one of them
