My doctor sent me for bloodwork because I have little to NO sex drive. She was expecting low testosterone levels, however my tests showed that my testosterone levels are extremely high? I have no symptoms of PCOS. No hair, had a baby, regular cycles... What could it be?

I would get a second opinion, just in case. You never wanna just start taking some kind of medicine, and then find out that the results where wrong. Just because you have no sex drive, does not necessarily mean that you have something medically wrong with you. Since you have a baby, I would assume that you do have sex, or use to have sex on a regular basis. But now.. it just isn't appealing to you. Are you maybe tired of the same routine? Maybe.. want a little more excitement? Try spending the weekend at a nice hotel, without the baby. It can really help. And.. experiment with new positions, buy a Karma Sutra book. Get a second opinion. GOOD LUCK :)

Everyone has estrogen and testosterone because we are made of man and woman, so it makes sense. I learned something that may or may not be true, but it's the same thing as those little measurement tricks, like: Your foot is as long as the distance from your elbow to wrist. Or, your arms outstretched, fingertip to fingertip is how tall you are. So, if you want to do the finger testosterone/estrogen test, just know that on any hand, your ring finger represents testosterone. Your pointer finger represents estrogen. Pull all five fingers together as close as possible into the center. You will be able to see which finger (pointer/estrogen, ring/testosterone) is longer, and whichever is longer is how much more of that certain hormone you possess. My ring finger, on both hands, is longer than my pointer and I am a female. It's kind of interesting. :) Good question! :D

Hi Jessica. Lab tests often come back 'incorrect'. If this result does not match your clinical presentation (in fact it sounds like the number is unusually high), it may be appropriate to repeat the test to confirm (validate) this abnormal finding.

Best wishes and good luck.
