It is hard in that there are so many romance novels out there that it is hard to be original. So many of them are just rehashes of other ones. If you go to some of the major romance novel sites like Harlequin, they have information on how to write one - including very specific guidelines that they require for their stories. They do not accept stories that do not meet their guidelines. That is the place to start.

Careful or you may wind up in my next novel.

It is just as difficult to write a romance novel as an work of fiction. Many people believe, and these are usually people who do NOT read romance novels, that they follow a formula.
I write romance. The first thing I did was just brainstorm my idea. See if you can write a plot outline, or even just notes on how the story will flow. After that sit down and write. See what comes out.
You'll be on your way.

It's really hard. It has to be believable and the reader shouldn't be able to predict or see through the romance. It's better preferred when the romance is actually love and not lust. You're characters cannot even TOUCH the word cliche, also along with your storyline.

It also takes three word: motivation, devotion and dedication. As for the actual work: great writing.

Good luck!

WEll, I know what you mean. I have that same thing going on right now.
But, what might help you out is pre writting.
That is one of the mayor things that helps you, that way you'll have the whole plot developed. All you'll have to do is add the little details and such.

Hoped this helped.
