Malice is a legal term referring to a party's intention to do injury to another party. Malice is either expressed or implied.

Libel is a harmful statement in a fixed medium, especially writing but also a picture, sign, or electronic broadcast.

Malice is verbal or written also, but is more of a threat to do harm. Libel is saying, writing or otherwise making disparaging remarks about someone with the intent to make them look bad.
