It's ''birds of a feather flock together'' and simply means people who are similar, or like similar things, will often come together. It's a reasonably accurate observation of the way human beings operate culturally, racially, and socially.

I suppose I do, but then i also believe that "opposites attract"

I think you have to pick the one that fits the situation and go for it!

Yes, guilty by association is another term for it. When you have a group of people and someone joins the group if they are very different in ethics or morals they won't fit in and will soon leave the group.
If a man is hanging out with a group of buddies the entire group are likely to have the same sense of morals and ethics you can judge them by the company they keep. The same is true of women.

This is true, especially for witches and pagans. We tend to be able to sense each other just about as soon as we meet without ever mentioning our path. I have met and befriended more and more people of like minds and spirits that way.
