I've just been wondering for a while--What do people think of my name? It's Misty Dawn--my family calls me Misty Dawn but everyone else just calls me Misty. I've always liked it, but I'm not sure if other people do! Not that I care, I still like it cuz it's what my momma gave me! :-) I'm just wondering. Thanks!!

I've never been made fun of for my name, not even when I was a little kid. . . Everybody's always told me it's a pretty name! It's annoying, though, when millions of people seem to have pets named Misty! :-)

It's very unique and that makes it special. It sounds very feminine and pretty. It doesn't really matter what other people think about it but, I am quite certain that your name is one that many never forget! I have always loved the most unusual names that stand out among the rest.

Misty is a incredibly call, esp. Misty Rose, even nonetheless it would not age nicely. I grew up with some Mistys. A Misty at sixteen or 25 is incredibly and airy, yet a Misty at 40 feels like the two a clean Age hippie or a washed-up stripper. it rather is a youthful lady's call, and it would not sound good on a grown lady.

Aw, sweetie! I'm sorry to say this, but since you're wondering, as soon as I saw your title I thought of the ONE Misty I've ever known, and her name happened to be "Misty Dawn" (she went by both -- double name).
Unfortunately, the obviously literal implications of the name weren't lost on even the youngest of children, because every time "Misty Dawn" was called on, her name was immediately followed up by stifled laughter from across the room. She was also teased quite a bit for having such an (ahem) "x-rated" name (the exact type of word play so common in the adult entertainment industry -- in fact, "Misty Dawn" IS the name of at least one such "star" that I'm aware of LOL). I always felt so bad for her. :(

I think there was a porn star in the 80's named Misty Dawn (yep, googled it, she was John Holmes' wife)

I personally think it is a very lovely name, but it also reminds me of a main character of the show pokemon. The show was very popular but is now made fun of by kids.
