to truly get your answer simply read the way these people think of it. Society wants everyone to be in one specific group, when someone strays and does things their own way they are an sociological outcast and disrupt the normal way of things. Aside from that its a simple case of judgmental people forcing their beliefs on others. To call anyone disgusting cause they don't believe in what you do is ignorance in all its glory. Live your life the way it feels right to you and your spouse. Love life and live it.

Some people do think it's disgusting for single people to sleep around, usually the same people who would find swinging or an open marriage disgusting.

Personally, I believe as long as you are not hurting anyone, you can do what you want. Meaning, if both you and your spouse are okay with seeing other people sexually, have fun. Cheating is wrong because it is lying, not because of sex.

Many people base their marriages and their love on sex, this is why they cannot understand why it's okay for some to have an open marriage. They think that love and sex are the same entity and worship sex like it is love. It's very common among religious folks who lack the intellect to differentiate between sex and love.

This is my personal opinion, and I am surprise about a single person can sleep around but, no one cares even he or she did with a marriage man and woman. However, if a married couple announce that they want to have multiple partners then the town is burning and it is a talk of the town. I really do understand about AID and it does impact on people around now. Religion also plays impact on marriage and raising children. I am so honest to tell you that I will not like this idea and I am worry of the STD and AID more than any things else.

Because a marriage involves TWO people, which means that more often than not, someone stepping out of the marriage for sex, the other person is going to get hurt....and it doesn't matter if they would both agree to swinging or open marriage...eventually someone will get hurt...it's not normally healthy, especially if they have kids....

You are not ONE PERSON in a marriage, that's why it's fine for singles....If two people in a marriage agree to swing, have open marriage, why would they also feel the need to brag about it...What people do in their homes should stay in their homes. That's why so many people are disgusted by polygamy. If someone wants to sleep around with other people...then don't get married.

"How come when a single person sleeps around?
this is perfectly acceptable behaviour and not disgusting." Who says? Anyone sleeping around is a whore whether they are married or single. It is worse being married because when one marries they sign a CONTRACT. By having an "open marriage" or "swinging" they are breaking that contract as well as letting their marriage partner know that they don't give a damn abount them because they are willing to contract and spread life threatening diseases to their marriage partner by having an open marriage or swinging.

Because there is really no such thing as an open marriage. Some people try to make out there is but for their own selfish reasons and use this term for an excuse for the adultery that they are committing. Single people who sleep around only hurt themselves.

There is a big difference between the two. When you're single it's about independence and exploration. However, when you enter the institution of marrige then it's another ball game. You have to vaule the sacredness of two people coming together for a common goal. The foundation was about two becoming one and not allowing outside factors to penetrate what has been put together by God. If you go adding extra partners to this mix then you complicate things and devalue something that is meant to be pure.

All the "open" marriages I know of ended in divorce.

If 2 people love each other, they don't want their spouse to sleep with others, nor do they want to themselves. If you want to sleep around then you shouldn't be married.

First of all when a single person sleeps around, it is still disgusting. So when a married person sleeps around, it's not only disgusting but selfish. Because they want the companionship of a marriage but not the faithfulness it demands.

Because married people took vows to love and be true only to each other if they wanted to sleep with other people, then they should of stayed single! Not to mention that alot of marriages have ended by starting the open marriage and swinging thing!!
