Don't know about the pair of pants, but 2 matching shoes, 2 matching socks, 2 matching gloves, and so on, but only 1 bra.

OMG my mom always says the same thing!! or even though its one pair of pants, why is it called that? cuz its only one, so it should be called a pant. haha my mom always argues this question with me. and honestly i have no clue!! i could understand a pair of shoes, socks, gloves, because theres 2, but pants theres only 1, but there is 2 legs. sorry im thinking outloud. haha.

I have always wondered about that, it's like a pair of scissors, I don't want a pair, I only want one, and a pair of underwear, I don't need two. It's really funny.

Because they all end in plurals and if you said a pair of bras it would be two bras and not just one. Its grammer... thats why.

because you can wear one of the others, (pants with one leg) but a bra with only one cup makes no sense
