Tonight I was at a friends apartment, all the other apartments in this building are vacant .. so anyway everyone there was convinced it was haunted.. on the way out a door that had been closed was now opened, and they said it happened all the time..

I went into the vacant apartment and it was so cold in there... and I could just feel the energy of the room it was eerie in a good way..

I just wanted to share this experience

That sounds a bit funny. Your friend rents the only apartment in the building and the rest is vacant? If so, I'd strongly suspect that your friend is not the only one there. Expect vagrants and possibily drug dealers/users to "haunt" the premises as well. And don't expect the vacant apartments to be heated, either -- why heat an empty place?

Was everyone convinced the building was haunted before or after arriving? What convinced everyone the place was haunted? Did anyone bother investigating how the door could open itself, as it appeared to have done? Do you suppose the empty apartment was cold because there was no one there occupying it? Do you suppose you could "feel the energy of the room" because you were already convinced the place was haunted?

This sounds like a classic a priori haunting. If you're convinced a place is haunted (even though this position is not prompted by any evidence) then anything that happens will support this conclusion.

I tend to wonder why there were no other tenants in the apartment building. You could have had homeless people moving in and keeping themselves out of detection. An apartment will be cold if it is empty and the heat is turned off. I know what apprehension feels like but I have no idea what energy feels like unless you shock yourself with electricity. What is eerie in a good way? Is there such a thing?

Obviously you mistook a meat packing plant for an apartment building (which is why no one else was there) and you inadvertently walked into the freezer. Did you at least pick up a steak on the way out?

apartments are like hotels, there is a lot of transient activity that seems to attract hauntings. Like hotels. I guess my question would be, why are most of the apartments vacant?

Kewl experience. My mom always talks about my Dad's parents house. About how after my Grandma died that my Grandpa would close all the doors upstairs to everything. When he got home the doors would be opened and no one else would be there.
