I suppose I should see some people saying YES on this one, because i've answered here...and talked with many elsewhere that will condemn something or speak against it with little facts.
I can't blame them all, we are all busy people in general and sometimes all we can afford in time is to catch up on worldly events or in those occuring in the USA is to watch the news or listen to radio. But when that primary media becomes taninted to one side or the other, and starts leaving some information out, or covering for people...often political candidates. Then we are biased or influenced until we find the truth or generally distrust what is said until it is confirmed.
However, I am one to research or be involved with things and can speak pretty authoritatively on some subjects. For those I know nothing about, I don't believe much in idle chatter and have the ethic to shut the hell up when I know nothing about it.
I can honestly say that some of the answers have "fine tuned" some of my analogies, given me better references to prove my case and introduced maybe another facets of the same discussion to consider.
Past that, change is for those who are wrong....and the best way not to be wrong is not to talk about what you don't actually KNOW.

I find answering the questions to be very therapeutical. It's made me look back at some of my behavior over the years, and helped me see other points of view. But I usually hang out in the 'relationships' section, not politics. Doubtful that I'll change my politics based on anything I'll see on YA. Fairly opinionated there.

Yes... especially in my early days of coming here.
One thing I can definitely say is this place has made me realize how extreme and hostile the far right are towards the more liberal persons. I never realized there was that much anger and it has made me way more polarized in my real life. When I meet someone now, I literally ask them what party affiliation they are, if they say Republican, I will not associate with that person from that moment on.

Yes. About 6 months ago I started to answer a question, which I was going just reem the guy, but I watched the video, and it changed my thoughts about 911. We need to look at all the evidence and make up our own minds, no matter what others think. This goes for all things and questions.
