Yes, If your having problems, practice makes perfect. The way I finally worked it out: you place the base stick, (this one does not move), so that it rests in the Vally at the base of your thumb and on the side of the first digit of your ring finger. You lean your thumb on it to hold it in place. The second stick is held similar to holding a pencil where it rests along the tip of the middle finger up along the first two digits of the index finger and across the side of the third digit of the index finger held in place with the upper pad of the thumb forming a triangulation of the three finger tips with the stick is in their center where you can move it up and down like a crabs claw.

Nope i tried and they went one way and my food went the other way it was a disaster ... i will stick to forks and knives as i could seriously hurt someone with chop sticks...
