common sense is knowledge that most people have.
Example: it is wrong to hit your teacher with a blow up doll while she is walking on a titerope. That is common sense because you know that this action would be wrong (and strange)

Common Sense was a pamphlet written by Thomas Paine during the American Revolution. The document denounced British rule and, through its immense popularity, contributed to stimulating the American Revolution.
Or did you mean common sense, meaning "exhibiting good judgment"? (Not very common at all...)

common sense is basically the ability to solve a problem or situation instinctively.... for example---you lock yourself out of your house... it is AUGUST... you NEED to get in and in front of you is a rock that you COULD toss through that big picture window in the front of your house.... what COMMON SENSE does is tells you INSIDE (clues your brain so to speak) that MAYBE someone might have left a window PARTIALLY open and it would be WISER to look to see then to break the big picture window first.....oh and when this DID happen, the back window WAS opened and no one had to spend $400 replacing the large front picture window.

Common sense is simply an understanding of cause and effect, then appying that understanding.
If I do this, that will happen.
If I do something sensible, the effect will be sensible.
If I do something silly, the effect will be silly.
It's a matter of choice. I have to live with cosequences either way.
