Pretend you're giving a presentation to convince others to try your favorite hobby (e.g. the joys of skating).

My visual aid would be some of my finshed jewelry.
Then I would have a board that showed the jewelry
in all the stages of completion.

By using the step by step method,
the individual can see how the
jewelry progresses from a few polished stones
to beautiful jewelry.

At one point during my demo,
I would ask for a volunteer and
would show them how simple,
this hobby is for beginners.
I would allow them to make
and keep a piece of jewelry.
By having a piece of jewelry that you
make yourself or that others
see you make, this will make
a large impact on your audience.

One of my favorite hobbies is making and designing jewelry because I like to wear jewelry that no one else has anything like it.
If you buy your jewelry from Macy's or Sak's everyone and their sister is wearing an identical one to this, so I design my own.

I would start with a piece of amethyst and show how to wire wrap it using the cascading effect and adding smaller blue topaz stones to create the waterfall effect.

I would first demonstrate how it would look in sterling silver as a neckace or where it could be converted and worn like a pin. ( I would probably use square wire, that is .925 pure silver)

Next I would do the same technique,
but use, 18 karat gold triangular wire to show the different effect it would have by using the same techniques but making a ring instead.
I would demonstrate how to size the ring and
if need be how rings are stretched.

Next I would explain about pricing your work and tell people how much jewelry is marked up. This is usually between 400% to as much as 1500%, depending on how much is involved and the rarity of the stones.
If you have $3.00 invested in a piece of jewelry, you should price it somewhere between $15.00 to $30.00.
This is what I sell it for on eBay. Many times I sell to local boutiques and depending on where in the city they are located, this will determine the asking price.

Writing helps to get all of those pesky storylines out of your head and allows you to keep 'playing pretend' as an adult without looking insane in the presence of your peers.

I like weightlifting. I would use my size; large and muscular body, and my age (55) to tell people how they can have strong bodies too.
