It is what makes love so dear. When you open up your heart to someone, you give them control of your emotions. It has to do with trust. And for myself personally It is forever. People cannot turn emotions on or off like a light switch, (wouldn't that make things so much easier), It takes a lot of pain and heartache to end the love one has for another. And even then you will still have feelings for that person. It is the relationships that we have where are trust is not violated that give us reason to live.

I very much agree. Those people that you love and care about are most likely people who you trust, people who trust you. They're people you're very close to (duh), and if you did anything at all to hurt emotionally, mentally, or physically, they'd be crushed, harshly. And if they did anything to hurt you in any way, emotionally, mentally, or physically, you too would be harshly crushed. It hurts to hear that from the people you hold close. Yes, saying/doing things that hurt a stranger will hurt the stranger harshly, too, but it, in some cases, would be easier to get over.

I also think that those people near and dear to you are the easiest to forgive because you love them.

Agree. They do hurt you the most, but it is so much better when they are the ones making it better because it really means something.

of course.even if they don't mean to, the people who you love the most are in a position of power. it wouldn't matter to you if you didn't care for the person. if your best friend told you they never wanted to see you again, it would hurt a lot more than if a total jerk who you didn't like any way told you they didn't want to see you again, you just wouldn't care.
i know thats a kind of lame example but it was all i could think of.

Agree. Those who care the most about you seem to have the strange ability to turn your heart into hamburger efficiently and with great dispatch.

Well, Duh...would anyone expose their emotional vulnerabilities to strangers; outsiders?
We open ourselves to those we love and trust, its defined by its terms. Once shared, this 'weakness' can be exploited by amoral and wicked individuals-to their own selfish ends. That way, when your loving heart is ripped out, at least its not at the hands of a stranger.

Oh rapturous joy!

AGREE totally I have a BIG problem with trust and the one I let get the closest have more power to do just that then they know.

Agree, since you love and care about them it hurts worse than someone you don't care about.
