Alex,
I think all of us who search after God have had these wilderness moments. Someone told me once that God had not moved from me, but I had changed in what I expected from God. I had to realize God's last name is not "Claus" and I could not expect him to show up at my every "beck and call."
We are to walk by faith which means:
1." I believe you God when you say you are the same, yesterday, today, and forever."
2."I will believe your promises no matter what I feel or what others say because
3."I walk by faith and not by my feelings."
Alex, it also helps to get into some kind of Bible study or support group meeting on a regular basis. This is a group where you feel safe to be vulnerable and everyone is accountable to each other through prayer. Many times God would speak to me through other people in the group.
Finally, read James 1. You will find a prayer you always can pray and expect to get an answer every time allbeit in creative ways from God, your Creator.
This wilderness time is your growing time. Enjoy, it will end soon enough.

Because sin separates us from God. And yes all Christians have bouts like that, but keep reading/studying the bible daily, keep praying and going to church and worshiping. Try to team up with a couple of other Christian people and meet once a week. Study a book of the bible and discuss it. Help each other to be accountable to one another. Talk about yousuccessesss and failures. That type of Christian fellowship totally changed my Christian walk. I also take time almost every day and listened to TruthForLife on my computer.

This is pretty common;-{ our journey is valleys & mountains.
It's the brief mountain-tops which get us through the valleys.
Form good habits, like prayer, scripture study, & worship.
Know that G*D hasn't moved away, HE's still right there.

I know exactly how you feel... what broke the cycle for me was something that happened that was really hard for me to deal with on my own.

Yes I feel the same way you do. I promise to go to church and I haven't been to church, and I feel guilty about breaking my promise, I won't feel good inside if I don't keep that promise.

That's God doesn't talk to people. When you talk to God, you're just talking to yourself.
