How can I paint Drum sticks?

How can I paint drum sticks without the paint cracking, what kind of paint do i need? and what are the steps to do this?

You should be ok if you sand them very well, use a paint that's meant for wood and try not to glop it, and spray with polyurethane when it's dry.
