After 10 years I can honestly say I would do it all over again because I would know that the drama would eventually end and we would then be together forever.

In my first 3 years of being a "step-mom" I went through hell and back. His children actually thought of me as the preverbial evil stepmother. They hated me and blamed me for their father not going home to their mother. This was strange since he lived with someone prior to meeting me and he had been apart from her for over 2 years.

The girls were disruptive, verbally and sometimes physically abusive on their visits and I thought a lot about sending him home to his wife those first three years.

Now the girls are older, one in college and they NEVER visit, only call when they want something. That is the perfect step-mother relationship.

Good Luck

Yes I would most definately do it again. I knew that he had been married before and it was always something with the ex wife. I did not meet him until they had been divorced almost 2 years, but she was still bitter. He let her know that he had moved on and we were getting married and he was happy. We have been through alot concerning her and the kid from the marriage, but I supported him and sttod by him and he let her know I was here and here to stay. He never chose me over his kids, only over all the drama that she would try to bring.

If I knew then what I know now, I would have never let it get passed the first hello. However with that said and for the fact that I did let it go further, I couldn't ask for a better husband. His ex has classic Parental Alienation Syndrome and makes our life a living hell, puts the kids up to things and makes me pray that in the morning when I wake up they will be grown and have families of their own....and out of my hair. Not nice I know....but since you asked I am assuming that you know what I mean.

It sounds to me that you have gotten yourself into quite a situation. I took the liberty to read your profile and all your questions you posted. You are consumed with this situation. This can't be good for you and the baby. I wouldn't consider the situation you are in to be healthy. If you have these feelings and concerns about the ex, your husband's family, and your husband, then why do you stay and put up with being second best. I know you are young but girl God gave you common sense. USE IT! All I can say after this point is you have two choices put up with it or leave. Cuz, I know one thing me Steph is not going to put up with any body's crap and you can bet your bottom dollar on that one. I love myself, and my kids and nobody is going to walk all over me cuz I am no body's doormat. And another girl, you might want to seek a little help to help you cope and deal with these fiasco's that are going on in your life. Good luck, and remember keep your head up.

I would say yes i would. The drama eventually will go away but its hard dealing with it all. I only get involved if i have too because they are not my children but when the ex clowns thats when you just file police reports. Let them get they selves in trouble... But its messed up on the childrens behalf cuz they always get put in the middle.

Of course. But then again, I wasn't stupid enough to just jump into bed and marriage with a man and his kids I barely know. We took time getting to know each other, letting the kids get to know me and forming a civil relationship with the ex.

I don't know if I would or not. I love my husband very much, but his ex wife puts us through hell. She has told him that she will keep trying until the day she dies to split us up. She causes so many problems.

Naw. Saw that one coming, so never dated a guy with kids still left to support.... they were immediately eliminated by the list.
