my mother didnt pay me for doing chores my phone is a basic one its not great but hey it does its job the only reason i have it is for work purposes to call my mom when i decide to take OT for a little more money!! my mom gives up a ot for me&my brothers bot are now grown but one struggles and like me has had it hard hes had it a lot worse though and i mean a lot we both had abusive fathes but he was abused in many ways by his and mine too! mom has sacrificed a lot shes went days without eating so us kids could!

2007-11-10 14:30:31 · update #8

i would never disrespect my mother because

shes struggled for a long time to try to give us things we needed and has done everything in her power to try and improve our livesi have the deepest respect for my mother because my father is a real sorry a*s he doesnt pay child support like hes supposed to and mom doesnt have money to fight him so me&her also crochet and knit when we find the time and sell that stuff for money so you know i know for sure that one day i hope to be as good as a mom as my mother has always been to us her children and would most def consider myself a disgrace if i got on this high horse like that kid did because i know what its like to struggle whereas she doesnt!

thanks for the applause but on top of that i actually have very decent manners except for when i see spoiled brats like her i have worked hard for everything in my life and more importantly my mother has and it makes me so angry to see kids like her and read the little comments about ''crap'' jobs,it felt like worse than a kick in the face to me like she was downing all those who take these jobs!

There is only one job where you start at the top and work your way down - and that's posthole digger. Once these insolent little cretins get it through their thick little heads, the better off they will be! Wow, and you're 16?! I know people twice your age who don't have half of your work ethic! When I hear from young people like you, it makes me feel a little better about this country's future.

I hear you! I was working cows and riding a tractor every chance I had when I was her age. Not so much because I needed money but I loved the work. I helped my grandfather on the farm and nothing suited me better at that age, except maybe fishing! She's one of those people who will end up in a bind one day and having to take a crappy job that she hates because she feels she was too good for some of the ones she passed up. OR, she may ride the government system because she's too lazy to take a job that requires working her way up to the top.

I agree. I used to babysit a VERY active 2 year old from 6
AM til about 5 or 6 PM...in fact...he was often with me until around 9 PM...and i'm not exaggerating....i wish i were...but i did that with no breaks during the day!....But I learned from it. Everybody needs to work for things.

I understand exactly. I did a lot of the same things you did. I babysat 4 kids while their mom took a course at the college to better herself for her kids and only got $1.50 an hr. I worked at fast food places and helped mow yards and a lot of things to help out myself and my mom. I agree with you 100% and gave you a thumbs up for your answer to her. Bravo to you!!

Yes.

And, your answer is a good one. You are one awesome 16-year-old. You are going to do so well in life because you understand working hard and the value of a dollar. Not to mention the meaning of family and respect for your mother. Good for you and hugs to you.

Truth hurts doesn't it. What you said was right on. Kids these days have it so easy and yet they still complain. I have a boss like that (yuk) she never ever has had to work for anything in her life and she whines like a school room sissy all the time. I just want to slap her! But I agree with what you said 100% I am proud of you for saying what needed to be said!

Spoiled brats like her make me sick. As if owning the whole freaking mall in your closet and getting a new cell phone every month isn't enough.
