You can get patch kits from a flooring store, and possibly hardware store. The color will probably not be an exact match, but should be close unless there is a pattern.

When you get the kit, don't try to fill the hole in one application unless it is very shallow. Apply in several thin coats instead. If you overfill, wet sand very lightly with 300 grit wet/dry paper.

First of all, where is the hole? Is it in a portion of the counter where you may be preparing foods, or is it near the back of the counter whe a hole may have been placed to run a water or electrical line?

Best place to get the proper advice is from a formica dealer who is usually a floor covering specialist. He will have the solution.

Specialty stores that sell laminated plastic (formica is a brand name of a laminated plastic) have colored tubes of caulk that is made specifically for patching cracks and holes in laminate.
