Lets face it, nothing these days compares with The Who, Stones, Zep etc--all we get are one hit underwonders who sound the same, no imagination and too much negativity, unlike the upbeaters.
Do you want crap music, or do you want a revival of positive stuff?
It's only a question...

Wow--how do some of us
(note my pointed finger at none
other than myself!) answer this
without it becoming a full-on rant?

Some of us have been led by the work of people
such as Page, Townshend, Richards and Clapton
to the roots, the real roots, witness:
McKinley Morganfield and Robert Johnson
and Chuck Berry and Willie Dixon and
John Lee Hooker...

and have given ourselves a little further than
we'd intended to the whole thing.

Then, there's the element of having the brains
to realize that though we hated initially the
whole early '80s thing, wow, listen and behold,
some of that stuff was good AND as it turns
out, we see that the music structure was
the same, just realigned...our emotions
are triggered, though to different degrees,
but we give in to that which is good, and
later, wow, there's involuntary insufferable
melancholy--oh my goodness, I'm human.

Look up Glyn Johns. He had as much to do
with it as anyone.

Don't miss out on Sheryl Crow's first 3 albums.

Remember it's opinion, subjective; though granted,
there really DOES seem to be worse and more
cr@p than ever...

At the top, emotionally: BB King.

Cerebrally: What David Byrne said/sang:
"Same as it ever was...."

Thanks.

No there are a lot of really good groups now and I see a couple around for awhile
I love Nickelback and hope they are around for some time.
I am not some young thing-- graduated over 20 yrs ago, but do listen to the stuff now a days and yes I do enjoy it.
The reason a lot of the groups from 20/30 years ago continue to remain around is because we want it too. Pink Floyd will go on till I die!!
But will it remain around after I am gone and my great grandchildren are my age---- I doubt it.
