Hate is the mind killer,as is fear,and hate only kills the person that hates. If you dislike someone or something,,,these feelings can be motivational forces that may cause your activities to bring about a change that you do like. Spite is always a good motivational feeling.As to what is "WRONG",,,this would depend on the situation. Right and wrong are very subjective terms. Take your motivation from whatever sources you can find,,,and use them to bring about circumstances that YOU enjoy.

It depends on the situation. Using dislike, hate, or spite is negative motivation. It is used with the objective to diminish and stop behavior. The repercussion is it also energizes negative behavior

I would not say it is wrong, but hate,spite and bad things like that are not good motivation tools. It makes you focus on the wrong things.
You need to look at things like self belief and a bit of arrogance and things like that
