Y!A is not a popularity contest, it's a place to ask and answer questions, no matter how ridiculous it is. Anyone who sees it as a contest is immature.

What popularity contest? I didn't even know there was one. The only one I'd guess would be the one for Top Answerer.
This is my favorite form of entertainment. I don't care about a contest anyway.

There is a popularity contest? And I thought that I was just here because I had nothing else to do! Oh gee a contest, hope I win! What does the winner get?

Is there really? Who decides? How do you know if you are popular or not? What do you win? That's cute. And sad, in a funny sort of way.
I read that there are a lot of children who use this website, so I am guessing some of them go to school together and know who each other is/are on here and just bring their outside drama to this board.
I will have to watch more closely. I am a wife and mom in the rural South. There isn't much going on out here, so I am easily entertained by other people's drama.

Not really. I have had my friends since the beginning and have picked up more along the way. I enjoy this place but not trying to get "popular" Just having a good time. My "popularity" concerns went away when I was in college.

I wasn't aware there was a popularity contest.
However, I am a little bored of all the "conspiracy" talk concerning Y!A, and all of the criticism and negativity over particular top answerers. Jealousy is an ugly thing.

Is there a popularity contest going on in here? I didn't realize...it's just...the points are useless...not redeemable for anything...except for the points themselves...bragging rights...so might I repeat myself and ask...Is there a popularity contest going on in here?
