AJ you miss the point. The point is if your country is flooded and invaded by another group of people it is harmful, that is why we have legal immigration.

During the 90s they almost tripled legal immigration to 2.5 million a year and flooded the country with 20 million in an 8 year period. Next Pres cut it to 1.25 and now 1 million. Add t that the 3 million plus that jump their visas every year, plus the ones streaming across the northern nd southern borders and you have 40 million in no time which overload the country, medical places, welfare, laaw enforcement. You want meical help when you need it for you and your family. Take care. On some level it is about racism, but the issues are more complex than just the hate monger's view of intolerance. The need for immigration reform is necessary to maintain the health of our countries economy, national security, and political landscape. In the last two centuries, our country has allowed immigrants from all over the world to settle down and claim this land as their home and in return they assimilated politically. The problem with the Mexican Border stems from it's proximity which allows the Mexican Culture to constantly reinvent itself. Immigration laws must be revamped and enforced vigorously; not to exclude fair and just immigration, but to deter rampant illegal immigration.

Because they are breaking the LAW. They spread the Spanish language in our country when that is not our language. They make us pay taxes for THEIR kids in OUR schools. They make fools of all of the legal immigrants who are going through the long process to become a citizen. We have an immigration system, we have a work visa system, and we have laws...but, lets just chuck all that because someone somewhere needs something.

To be fair, without reading in the usual 'stuff', the answer to your question is that I don't think it should be harder for a person to go to school and get a degree to change the work they do, than to change their citizenship.
