protection against evil eye?

I just read a question asking if you believe in the evil eye-

I do, because I think negative energy from others results in harm.

how do you protect yourself form the evil eye? I know some people wear the little glass eyes for protection, but i don't see how that would work- unless the amulet is just sort of a reminder to protect ourselves.

The simplest way in this day and age is to forget about it and not let it affect you. But for the fun of it here are a few traditional methods.

1) Sprinkle salt into a tissue (or hold an egg) and move it (not sprinkle) over your body, or affected body parts while saying a prayer, chant or spell. Once done spit on it and throw it out a window. Don't look at it once you throw it out. The salt (or egg has absorbed the negativity)

2) Burn the red chilies (as in the answer above), but its the smell of the chilies burning that will tell you how serious / strong the evil eye is. The stronger (and more irritating the smell) the stronger the evil eye.

3) Would be using magick to charm an object, like a pendant for eg. Charms need frequent re-charging.

There are several strategies.

1. Don't beleive in the evil eye. The magic works because you think it will.

2. Wear red. In Vodoun traditions, red repels or relfects eveil away.

3. Make the sign of the horns in front of your face. This is Capathian.

4. Get a mirror. Light a white candle and get some nice smelling oil (something that makes you feel safe). With the candle burning, take some of the oil and draw a penacle on the Mirror (with your finger) and as you do say "May all evil that is sent to me be repelled and sent back three fold, that the sender might find wisdom and deliverance from the err of their ways. May all the good sent to me come through, give me joy and hurry back to the sender 7 fold". Put the mirror in a place of prominence. Within 3 days you'll hear of people getting sick, those are the people sending you the malice. You will probably find that many of them change their attitudes toward you as well. Those who really love you will get something special.

In this spell, it is important that you don't have any malice. The point isn't to punish your enemies, it's to send them a little nudge letting them know you'd rather be friends.

In India, people burn dry red peppers to get rid of evil eye. Different countries have different customs.
