First of all I have acid reflux and right now I have air or something in my tummy. I'm been burping (that is the only way I can describe it but it isn't a full burp) for the last 5 hours every 30 seconds.

I remembered a natural cure for acid reflux being to drink apple cider vigiger. That instant took the effect of the way my stomache felt and increased it to 10x worse and It made it so bad I almost throw up. What works to make this go away, forever. I'd really like to cure it not just medicate it.

There isn't a real cure for acid reflux. But remember all acidic things are bad for you.So cider Vinegar is definitely out.I have same problem, and I take Omeprazole(1daily) which allows me to enjoy most things. Also try Aloe Vera Juice. It is really good.My advice to you-cut out smoking, alcohol, and acidic fruits.See your doctor, you may have Coleac disease, or an allergy to lactose or gluten.I'm still here, I've had it since I was 14, and I'm nearly 72.Find out what works, and stop worrying.Stress is one of the worst things you can do.

First of all you can't drink vinegar straight when you have reflux problems..You must dilute it with clear filtered water and add raw honey to it.. The honey is a natural antibiotic and the vinegar stabilizes the acid ..

You may have an ulcer which can cause extreme gas, bloating, burning. pain and bleeding.. The vinegar and honey will help take care of that..Capsicum is also very good as an anti bacterial if you have an infection...

You might consider drinking Milk thistle tea and eating beats to cleanse you liver, blood etc..This will aid in the healing process .... These things are also good for many other ailments or if you take prescription drugs...I hope this helps

You will have to be consistent in doing these things and it will take a while ..You may have to continue these things for a long time..This is better for you then drugs and if this makes you feel better and you can avoid the doctor then so be it..Good luck!

Antacids only cause dependency on them and have side effects... Most acid reflux is caused by not enough acid in the stomach to break down foods..That's something your Dr. wont tell you.....Peace!

Hi Diane, I commend you for wanting to correct the cause of your problem, rather than just treating it symptomatically.

There are many possible causes of the symptoms you describe. I will list a few of the most common possibilities to help get you thinking in a productive direction.

1) Hiatal Hernia - a condition where part of the stomach pushes up through the diaphragm muscle (through the opening called the hiatus). A good Chiropractor can help you reduce this with manual therapy.

2) Celiac Disease - this is an allergic reaction to the proteins in wheat, rye and barley called glutens/gliadins. This condition is common, occurring in about 1 person in every 100, but sadly, it is rarely diagnosed. It commonly causes gas, belching, and various other disruptions of gut motility.

3) Other food intolerances/allergies. For example an allergic reaction to milk/dairy is common and often produces gut-related symptoms. Also, lactose intolerance (not an allergy to milk, but an inability to digest the lactose sugar in milk).

4) Bacterial overgrowth in the stomach or small intestine (this is a common byproduct (side-effect) of the chronic use of acid-inhibiting drugs and/or antibiotics.

You may need to find a good health care provider trained in nutritional therapies to help you sort out the cause of your suffering. A good Chiropractor, Naturopathic Physician, Certified Clinical Nutritionist, or that rare medical doctor trained in functional medicine and/or nutrition may be able to help you.

I can also suggest an excellent book on this subject by Sherry Rogers, M.D. called "No More Heartburn". It is available at Amazon.com.

Best wishes and good luck.

First, let me point out that if you have excess heartburn or indigestion (today being known as "acid reflux" it is NOT BECAUSE YOU HAVE EXCESS ACID, as you are being led to believe. If you have heartburn, indigestion, or acid reflux, it is because you do not have ENOUGH acid in your system. Go to your local health food store and get on some digestive enzymes. I would recommend Jarrow Formulas-Probiotics Jarrowdophilus+FOS (www.jarrow.com) or Enzymedica (www.enzymedica.com) and take them as advised. I would also recommend starting a whole body cleanse (www.dr-schuluze.com) and some other options are: Acid Redux(www.herbsmd.com) or Ayurvedic Licorice Root- Yashi-madhu (www.himalahealthcare.com)

Why would you introduce the extra acid of the vinegar into the system??? The only way to get rid of it is to see a doctor but to get rid of it quickly put 1 tablespoon of baking soda in about 6 ounces of water then stir it up and drink it. You'll belch really hard a couple of times but you will feel much better.

I used to have similar problems, I went to my doctor and he mentioned that it may be anxiety, and surely it was. It's EXTREMELY common do don't worry about it being weird or anything, there are medicines that you can take to calm you down. It sounds about right, hope you get things worked out!

You need to see a Gastrointerologist and get scoped- not a big deal- acid reflux and esophogeal errosion can lead to stomach cancer if not treated. I've had the procedure done and it's not bad just the stuff they spray to kill your gag reflex! You will probably end up on acid reducers like I did.

vinegar is an acid . if you have an ulcer this would just make it worse. if you have an acid stomach you need a buffer to decrease the acid .calcium is a natural buffer. you find this in most over the counter antacids.
