Look in your local Phone Book and CALL The nearest Salvation Army Office .. and ASK if they are taking applications for their Angel Trees (which will be placed at various stores around the area).

You will need to take PROOF of your income, bills, and all the childrens' information as well (including any medical or unusual expenses -- and you MUST be honest about any child support you also receive) ... because that is part of the application process.

Another source of information for Angel Tree Programs could be your local Family Services office too. They should have references to local community organizations willing to take applications for Christmas Childrens' Programs too.

Best wishes in this situation. I was a Long Term Single Parent (whose ex did not comply at all with the Child Support Orders) whose children were disabled ... so I did get some help a couple of holidays for my own children (especially right after the divorce). Since that time, I have made sure to GIVE BACK much more than my children received .. and I continue this to this day (as an Empty-Nester Retiree).

Check to see if your church or school district have programs that might be able to assist you with gifts for the children and possibly with a special holiday meal as well. Our school district always sponsors families at Christmas--- the families are anonymous except to the administrators.

Check with your children's school. Our elementary school does an Angel Tree. If parents need help they get with our social worker and she makes sure there is an angel hanging on the tree that represents your children. Parents who want to help pick angels off the tree and buy presents.

I know in Califorina, there are Toys for Tots and Salvation Army. They both donate toys for needy children. There are other. Call your local church or social services department and maybe they can tell you where to go.
